What are you looking for?

Whatever you're looking for, you'll find it. For example, I had five rounds of radiation therapy this week on the spot of cancer that is growing larger on the back of my skull. I’m tired, the back of my head itches, I am a bit sick to my stomach, and the hair on the back of my head is probably going to fall out in a couple of weeks. If I wanted to look for reasons to feel bad, I have plenty of them right now. However, I looked forward to going to Vandy every day for the past five days because one of my radiology technicians was a fellow Christian, and we talked about Jesus every day. I also found out he liked music, so we talked about music as well. Then, I found out he played the saxophone just like me. I found that out by accident Friday when he had David Sanborn playing when I walked into the radiation room. He was such an encouragement to me in a difficult time. Today, Marie and I went up to Patti’s 1800’s Restaurant to eat lunch. It takes a couple of hours to make that drive, and much of our time was spent driving on roads that were in the middle of nowhere. At the possibility of sharing too much information, I take a water pill every morning, and Mother Nature decided to call on me this morning while we were driving in the middle of the woods. Since I figured a gas station was out of the question, I was happy to see a VFW building up ahead. I figured I could go behind the VFW building and answer Mother Nature’s call. When I went behind the building, there were two guys cleaning up out back. I told them about my predicament, one of them said, and I quote “We aren’t open yet and everything inside is a mess (and it was), but you are welcome to use our bathroom if that would be ok.” I told him, “It’s more than ok, I was only planning to borrow a tree to go behind!” Oh, as soon as I got back in the car and started down the road again, there was a gas station! Here’s my point. If we go about our day looking for negative people, things, and circumstances, we will find them. It’s easy to focus on the bad, negative, and unpleasant. On the other hand, if we will just take the time to look, there is an awful lot of good people and circumstances as well. So, as I stated in my first sentence, whatever you are looking for, you will find it. Y’all, let’s look for the good and then do what we can to be that good person for someone else.

Be Blessed and Go Be a Blessing . . . Bro. Andy
