There’s an App for That!

As I scroll through the app store on my phone,  I am amazed at how many apps are available to help us along our way and to help make life easier.  I don't know how I ever survived without them.  There is an app to tell me how to eat healthily.  There is another that tells me how much exercise I need to burn off the meal that I just ate.  There is an app that tells me how to properly back up my computer, and another that helps me organize my to-do list.  There are apps that deal with spiritual things as well.  There is an app that helps with Bible study.  As well as another that helps organize prayer concerns.  There is even an app to help with pastoral ministry. With all of these apps, I figure I should be finished with a year's worth of work by about the end of March. There is only one problem.  That app that helps me eat healthily will not prevent me from picking up that package of Reese's Peanut Butter cups.  Even though it tells me how much exercise I need, it will not force me out of my recliner and into my running shoes.  The app that helps me organize my prayers will do me no good unless I actually start praying, and the pastoral ministry app won't help me one bit unless I get busy actually doing the work of pastoral ministry.  Apps are wonderful tools, but they are kind of like New Year's resolutions.  We get excited about them at first, but then our old habits resurface, and we find ourselves back to where we were when we started. True change comes from doing and doing consistently.  Let's all plug in our apps and get busy for the Lord for all of  2026, not just January.

Be blessed and go be a blessing . . . Bro. Andy
