"My mom says that people who go there believe dead people get up and walk around," a boy said to his friend. The friend replied, "My folks told me that people who go inside eat flesh and drink blood…all while they are inside that building!" "Well, the parking lot is full, so there must be something going on. C'mon, let's go peek in the windows," said the first boy.  "Uh-uh, not me, I'm not going up there.  Where do you think they get that blood they drink…from chickens?  You go take a peek, and I will wait here and run for help if they grab you," answered his friend. The first boy said "I'm not going by myself either.  Call me yellow if you want, but I'm scared of dead people walking around.  Not only that, I saw on TV that their buildings are full of rattlesnakes, and they have people who pick 'em up and pass 'em around.  You know Fairview is full of rattlesnakes!" Between Sunday School and the worship service, Bob White walked outside, drinking a cup of coffee.  He saw the boys and said, "C'mon boys, we're glad y'all are here. We have saved a spot for you,"   "I told you they drink blood…see that cup?" the first boy yelled to the second as they both took off running as fast as their legs would carry them.  Bro. Andy walked out to stand beside Bro. Bob. "What on earth did you say to them?" he asked. "I just invited them into church. I don't know what's wrong with them."  Bob replied. They both watched the boys run off and thought to themselves, "Kids today."  That is just a humorous look at some misconceptions people have about church.   By Since most people don't go to church, they only know what others have told them. "The church is full of hypocrites…all they do is fuss and fight…they are always asking for money…if you are struggling, don't go to church, you won't find help there."  The list could go on and on.  The only way to break these misconceptions is to invite folks to church so they can see for themselves.  Then, when visitors come, we need to show them that their preconceived ideas were not as accurate as they first thought. On second thought, when visitors come, we need to show them Jesus…shining through us.  When Andrew and John began to talk to Jesus, they asked Him a question.  Jesus answered, "Come and see."  We need to take Jesus to our community.  One of the easiest and non-confrontational ways to do this is to invite our family, friends, and neighbors to Sunday worship.  "Come and see" and let Jesus shine!

Be Blessed and then go be a Blessing . . . Bro. Andy
