I like acrostics. They are effective ways to help people remember several points in a single lesson. Let me give you an example. We all need to be men and women of F.A.I.T.H.
Faithful-It takes time and commitment to truly be busy with Kingdom work. So many people start out on fire, but when the going gets tough, those who are not tough go to the house. A true characteristic of those men and women of faith is, of course, faithfulness.
Available-We live in a busy culture. Between baseball practice, lawn mowing, and clothes washing, it is difficult to find the time to be busy with Kingdom work. It has been said and rightly so that the main ability God needs from us is availability. We all have the same twenty-four hours in the day. How are you spending your time?
Interdependent-I had to work for that one! God never intended for Christians to be derringers. He meant for us to become machine guns, all firing together to spread His gospel message. We can accomplish so much more for the Lord if we would learn to work together.
Teachable-Many times, we reach the point where we think we have "arrived". We think we know all about God, Jesus, and grace. To borrow a phrase from McDonald's founder Ray Kroc: "We are all either green and growing, or we are dead and rotting". 'Nuff said.
Holy-The concept of moral living and righteousness has gone the way of the dodo bird in our world today. "Christian" people have compromised their standards to the point where you can't tell the difference between the Christian and the non-Christian.
Do you want to be a man or woman of F.A.I.T.H? Then why not work these qualities into your life?
Be blessed and be a blessing . . . Bro. Andy
