Be Like Christ

I hear so many Christians ask what God's will is for his/her life. Romans 12:1-2 gives us the answer. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." In this age of quick fixes, hot takes, and easy answers, most Christians aren't willing to do the hard work of renewing our minds and then presenting our bodies a living sacrifice to God. By the way, these concepts of renewing and presenting are daily decisions, not one-time choices we supposedly made long ago when we were born again. Here is another verse that is relevant to this discussion: "Then He said to them all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me"…Luke 9:23. Living for Christ is God's will for our lives, but living for Christ involves dying to ourselves, and these dying/living decisions happen daily and quite often they happen several times a day. Don’t limit your relationship with God to something that happens once a week at church. Going to church is a great starting point, but relationships must be cultivated. Grow deeper in your relationship with God through Bible study, prayer, and “alone” time with Him. These things will help you not only grow your relationship, they will also help you in your efforts to renew your mind. Being Christlike is a decision that starts with your mind and it starts today!

Be blessed and be a blessing . . . Bro. Andy
