Are you asking “Why”?

December 5, 2021

Sometimes things happen in life when we are left asking why. From the death of a teenaged driver to the prolonged lingering of an aged or sick person who would welcome death, and a whole lot of life in between. Sometimes, it is personal. Other times, it affects an entire community, nation and even world. Unfortunately, the "whys” will continue as long as this world continues. I can't answer why. However, I do know this. The God I serve did not just say, "That's another fine mess you humans have gotten yourselves into." He didn't just wash his hands of everyone and everything. He did something drastic. HE came down to become one of us. To share our hurts, pains, trials, and temptations. He could have snapped His fingers, waved a magic wand or simply said, “Presto change-o,” and set everything right but He didn’t. Let that sink in for a moment. God chose to leave the confines of heaven, humble Himself, and become human, only to die on a cross in order to pay for the sins of mankind. That's what this season is all about. So, while we often ask the question "why", don't think that God doesn't care. He cared enough to come down here. He cared enough to live with us and among us for thirty something years and ultimately, He cared enough to die for us. Now THAT'S "Immanuel" (God WITH us). I might not know why, but I know Who...and that's enough.

Be blessed and be a blessing . . . Bro. Andy
